Floors and furniture are covered, breakable items are removed, and the work area is sealed to prevent the spread of dust. Upon completion, all areas are thoroughly cleaned, vacuumed, and belongings are replaced exactly as they were found. Breathing fumes from paint and paint chemicals is another reason to hire a professional. If your home was built before 1978, it may have been painted with lead-based paint; which can cause serious health effects when scraped or sanded in preparation for repainting.
